2025 FHGF Reef Project

A Reef Legacy in the Gulf of Mexico

Out past the shores of Dauphin Island, Alabama—where the waves roll steady and wild, new life is taking shape beneath the surface.

The Fly High Goose Foundation has deployed three artificial reefs into the Gulf, creating a thriving marine habitat in memory of Adrian “Goose” Baugh Johnson.

More than just a reef system, this is a living tribute to a beloved son of the Gulf Coast.

Goose was raised in Baldwin County and felt most alive on the water—fishing, boating, exploring—always chasing the horizon beneath the coastal sky.

To honor that spirit, his family and the foundation created this reef—a place where marine life can flourish and the memory of a fearless young man lives on.

Divers who visit will find this inscription etched into the reef:

“A fearless spirit, wild at heart, born for the water. May the tides carry his memory, the reefs shelter new life, and his love for nature live on in every wave.”

Built in partnership with Reefmaker, Goose’s reefs will support generations of sea life—offering shelter, protection, and a healthier future for the Gulf’s fragile ecosystems.

And for those who knew Goose, it’s a place to visit him. Some of his ashes have been built into the structure—forever a part of the waters he loved.

Fly high, Goose. Your spirit is still with us—riding the tides and leaving your mark on our hearts and our world.
